Introducing Shire

Welcome to Haematology at Shire

Our vision is to pursue a life without bleeds for people with haemophilia and to support them along the way to achieving their goals

Our vision is bold and our commitment to it is proven in our continued pursuit to improve the standards of care for haemophilia patients. The journey toward a life without bleeds begins with

3 CORE BELIEFS:

1

EVERY BLEED MATTERS

The journey for every patient should be toward zero preventable bleeds

Some people with haemophilia are bleeding unnecessarily—some preventable bleeds are treated only when they occur rather than before they happen.

2

PROPHYLAXIS FOR ALL

Prophylaxis should be a minimum standards of care requirement

Routine prophylaxis has been shown to prevent bleeding and joint deterioration, creating the possibility for patients to pursue the lives they choose. Patients ideally should receive adequate prophylaxis so they are not left at risk for preventable bleeds.

3

PERSONALISED FOR ONE

Every patient's care should be personalised

As each patient is unique, there are many factors to consider when personalising prophylaxis, including adherence to therapy, involvement in their own disease management, and dosing needs. There is no "one size fits all" approach to treating individual
patients; care should be personalised
.

Shire is built on a legacy of over 60 years of healthcare leadership. We innovate, develop, manufacture, and market treatments to save and sustain patients' lives.
